Chris begins to weaken
The strong shearing winds around a developing upper-level low situated to the northeast of Chris have pushed the thunderstorms well south of the circulation, greatly weakening the tropical storm. Chris could remain in this hostile position as both it and the upper-level low head westward in tandem. The forecast track takes Chris north of Hispaniola and toward Cuba as a tropical depression. ¶ 11:37 AM
