new zealand has it all.........
standing behind barrier lines, do not enter here as you may b crushed by ice, this is another do not try this at home tactic
franz joesph glacier, this is as close as we made it to this area, but still as one can see the view was spectacular
lookin rough as always after a long, long drive up the west coast
front seat visions
new zealand has thousands of waterfalls, yet another small wonder off the beatin path
fox glacier
so for no reason at all be made the choice to bush bash as they call it up this mountain cliff and here we are at our finest
another rest beachside, rock napping my favorite
this small town had some beautiful art work on the exterior of many buildings
check out this rock in the background,
beach walks
every place we discover offers so many new sights, but more than often you will find a cave hidden somewhere near by
golden bay, northern tip of south island......
this was a wind blown cost with cave after cave on the northern tip of the south island, has the biggest sand bar in the world reaching as 35k.
just a small spec in the distance i stand on a rock that is only seen at low tide, by the time we left this beach all this area was underwater
tents, showers, and warm meals....
well we finally escaped living in the car for the past 3 nites and it was nice to finally set up tents, have showers, eat warm meals, and just spend a few minutes alone from the others. traveling has been a blessing in so many way but as everything in life, it can wear and tear on u and those around you after time. i am thinking of changing my airline tickets as i mentioned before, this will cost me a bit of money but at this point i think its something i need to look into. today we move on yet again as we have to make out way to the port soon so we can catch the ferry over to the north island, not sure of my next destination but i will keep you posted.
i dont have time to post pics at the moment but will try again soon. thanks for all those who keep a watchful eye on me throughout my travels, i am grateful.
another day traveling.....
after sleepin in the car for another countless night we woke to find we needed another tire, 2nd time in 2 weeks, not the best of luck so far with this rental.
currently we are on the north end of the south island after traveling 8 hours from the fox and franz joesph glaciers, which by the way were amazing.
so we head over to the north island in a few days, having thoughts of possibly changing my fiji trip and heading to hawaii early, will keep you posted on this.
cathedral caves, only accessible at low tide, hiked in thru this coastal rainforest, and explored for a hour or so, def worth a look if u n the area
random
DONT TRY THIS AT HOME!!! sittin cliff edge, this was a creepy place the wind blowing at gale force strength and below waves crashed off the massive rock.
rock naps, gotta luv em'!! waters edge on the way to milford sound, camped here for just one nite and continued with the journey. woke in the morning to find clear blue skys and crystal clear water, be ready for all weather conditions in this country.
just a few random pics, about to hit the road traveling north toward franz joesph glacier, leaving queenstown, a picturesque little city right on the lakes edge.
tramping new zealand style.....
just loving this spot, had to take some time to enjoy the moment, ventured down past the waters edge for this one, above is a swinging bridge that carries you across this river but i needed a closer look
history is all around us
standing inside a one thousand year old tree, its called 7 arm tree cause it takes 7 people standing arms wide to wrap around this thing
one of many swing bridges discovered along our treks, the waters here are calm but this river is a raging class 5 rapids.
a view of lake marian in the distance, a climb to the summit was well worth the view, here one could see the four surrounding mountain ranges, home of the southern alps here. this place is so grand in scale its hard not to feel the power and history
within those rocks.
I HAVE MORE PICS THAN I COULD EVEN BEGIN TO TRY AND POST, time is short and money is even shorter so as i move north i hope to keep u guys informed and post more in the near future.

another paradise............
so i just spent the past 2 days in the most beautiful place my eyes have ever seen. this place is something i only imagined existed, milford bay.
melford sound, southwest new zealand
moving on............
woke this morning to find a hidden passage on long beach that is only accessible at low tide, thru waste high water u walk into a cave opening to another secret spot. found a huge seal layin on some rocks and took a few pics, walked around inside the bay area for a bit before venturing back before the high tide fills the entrance, this place has so much to offer and i cant wait to see whats next.
so today i leave the cave i called home and make our way to the farthest point on the south island, so far new zealand has blessed me with just breath taking scenes straight out of dream. plans are to go south tonight, then head back north toward queenstown, mayb across authurs pass, up to golden bay and then ferry to north island.
